چکیده

Reusing ceramic waste as a pozzolanic admixture may offer environmental benefits it allows the reduction in consumption of natural resources and energy, CO2 emissions associated with Portland cement (PC) production, while valorising materials long biodegradation period. This paper assessed activity three different types: red clay bricks (RCB), tiles (TCW) sanitary-ware (CSW). After adapting their particle size by crushing milling, each was used to replace 0 50 wt% PC (CEM I 42.5 R type). The milled powders were characterised laser diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) diffraction (XRD), consistency setting time tests investigate fresh behaviour waste/PC blended pastes. A basic sustainability analysis performed, RCB, TCW CSW compressive strength (performed mortars cured at room temperature from 3 365 days) microstructural analyses (thermogravimetry, XRD FESEM performed pastes 20 °C for 28 90 days). reaction these improved curing time, all prepared up 25 or met mechanical requirements set out coal fly ashes, whatever type used. Among them, results open possibility partially replacing closest available waste, which would reduce economic cost deriving transporting waste.

Eco-Friendly Hybrid Concrete using Pozzolanic Binder and Glass Fibers

Hybrid Concrete focused on the development of buildings, highways, and other structures of civil engineering. In the current study, various mix combinations have been prepared and tested with different percentages of super-plasticizer at different levels of water reduction for obtaining the optimum mix. Further, study on different properties of hybrid concrete and replacement of ordinary portla...

Eco-friendly Blocks by Blended Materials

In spite of broad improvements in construction technology, cement is still stayed as binding material for construction purposes. Cement industries are the main sources for the contribution of carbon dioxide (co2) into the atmosphere. So, there is a need to use new materials as binders (green binders) in substitute for cement, which leads to reducing the production of cement. In this study, fly ...

Relationship between Compressive and Chemical Compositions of Portland and Pozzolanic Cements

Pozzolans have been used to improve the some properties of concrete and also to reduce the cost of producing cement. Many researchers investigated pozzolanic cements, which were mostly made with kind of artificial or natural pozzolans. While the most recent investigations on pozzolan containing cements study the effect of pozzolan type, replacement amount and fineness, this study was investigat...

A Review on the Usage of Ceramic Wastes in Concrete Production

Construction and Demolition (C&D) wastes contribute the highest percentage of wastes worldwide (75%). Furthermore, ceramic materials contribute the highest percentage of wastes within the C&D wastes (54%). The current option for disposal of ceramic wastes is landfill. This is due to unavailability of standards, avoidance of risk, lack of knowledge and experience in using ceramic wastes in const...

Natural radioactivity in ceramic tiles and associated radiological hazards

Background: The natural radioactivity levels in ceramic tiles produced in Turkey were determined and the related radiological hazards were assessed. Materials and Methods: The natural radioactivity levels (226Ra, 232Th and 40K) in the ceramic tiles were measured using high-purity germanium detector system (HPGe) and the related radiological hazards were assessed by radium equivalent activity (R...
